Q: Where Does Ergo's Name Come From?

A:

"Ergo" is Latin for "therefore".  There is a famous formulation in philosophy by Rene Descartes which (in the original Latin) is "Cogito Ergo Sum".  It means "I think, therefore I am".  In this case, "Ergo" is a link between thinking about something and it actually coming into being.  The company Ergo was meant to be a link between ideas and results.
